Other Cakes

I haven't had much time to get any cards or scrapbook layouts done lately, but I have been doing a few cakes. Here are a couple more I've made in the last month.

The Accordian

In tribute to my father-in-laws long time passion of playing the accordian it seemed only obvious that I make him a cake for his 80th birthday. There are a few touch up's to do yet, but It's mostly done and I needed a break!

Day 3 JoysLife.com Give-A-Way!

So "Cow are you?"..
I think this is now my favorite posting on my blog, first because I just love this stamp from Joy's Life Lot's of Pun Stamps, second because it's my first Give-A-Way! YEAH!

I used Cricut Create a Critter Cartridge (I think this is my favorite cartridge right now) for the Cow and Everyday Paper Doll Cartridge for the barn. The card measures roughly 6"x6" and the cow was cut at 3". I did have to get creative to make the layers for the barn - thanks Gypsy. Added a little scrap ribbon and some black ink marks around the roof line. Fun Fun! The best part of it all - I used all scraps!

And Now For a Wonderful Opportunity for you!
Super Joy is sponsoring a Give-A-Way right here on my Blog. All you need to do is be a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this posting. Simple Right? Winner will be announced on Monday, August 2nd! *Remember to leave a way for me to contact you*

Office in Progress

I'm in the process of reorganizing,
painting and using some vinyl in my
office/scrapbook room. It's all
starting to come together.

I still need trim around my
window and some painting
touch ups. I'm having a little
too much fun with Vinyl.. Need
to get another color before
I add any more! Maybe Hot
pink? Who knows what I'll
come up with next.

After I'm done with this project I plan to get busy and get some more scrapbooking done. Felt like I needed a face lift on my room to get some creativity back. Hope it helps!

Face Lift for my Scrapbook Room!

Crazy Lady I am I decided at 3:00 this afternoon to paint my scrapbook room to Brighten it up.. YIKES - Bright is an understatement.. I've been trying to figure out for a while what color to do and it just came to me today - Pictures to come!! I'm so excited to share it with you all!

Another Design for Joy's Life!

Here is another card I designed using Stamps from Joy's Life - LOT'S OF PUN Stamps.

I made this card for my Nephew's Birthday - he's 10 and it's hard to make a card for that age. Out of the "cute" animals - not big enough for "guy" stuff. It ended up being the perfect card for him as he was outfitted with all the safety equipment for skateboarding!

I started this card with Cricut Cartridge Everyday Paper Dolls to
cut the skateboard, road & clouds.
I used standard card stock for everything. I then jumped to George &
Basic Shapes for the stars cut at 2 1/2, 2 1/4 & 2 inches. The stamp
was from Joy's Life - LOTS OF PUN STAMPS - "That's Cool!"
The clouds are textured with Cuttlebug A2 embossing folder "D'vine
Swirls" and topped off with Star Dust Stickles. The skateboard is
textured as well with "Tiny Bubbles" from Cuttlebug and the tiny stars
were from George & Basic Shapes with Yellow Stickles. The shooting
star is from Everyday Paperdolls with Stickles - Orange Peel & Xmas
Red.

Hope you enjoyed!

Craft Day!

We had our last Craft Day until after summer - schedules get way too busy! It was a successful one once again. This time we started early - 7:00 a.m. ! We had a smaller group this time with 6 attendees. After 15 hours I had to call it quits as my creativity started to suffer. I did get accomplished what I wanted and that was to get 1 year done for my daughter's scrapbook. Here is one of the 12 layout's I did for her.

My recipe for this layout Was simple:

-George and Basic Shapes Cartridge
-Simply Sweet Cricut Cartridge
-EK Success Edge & Corner star punch
-Standard Card Stock in White, Bright Blue and Hot Pink.

I am super excited to be posting this!

My first design that is published on www.joyslife.com She has a wonderful new set of stamps out called "Lots of Pun" They are perfectly designed to accompany the Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter". I isn't necessary to have this cartridge, but how can you not?

Well here goes.... This stamp I used was "Hi-ppopotamus" from "Lots of Pun" by Joy'slife.com AND of course I had to use a Hippo! I decided to make 2 cards right away - saves on time - something I learned from my fabulous Aunt Lolly & Cousin Mindy - thanks ladies for the tip!
The list of things used: -Joy's Life Stamp "Fun with Pun", Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter", Stampin Up punch Modern Label, Edger punch from EK Success "Scalloped Diamond", Stampin Up Cardstock Certainly Celery & Chocolate Chip and other misc cardstock in my collection.

I used stampin' up Celery cardstock for the card at 8 /2 x 5 1/2 & fold in 1/2. I used Choc Chip cardstock for the base of the hippo adn the butterfly. Next layer was dark pink for both, Hippo had the checked pink and then topped with a link pink textured cardstock for the edge, butterfly, stamped punch out, and hippo nose.

The next hippo card has the same concept. Basic colors on a 6x6 inch card. I used all scarps on this card so I don't have the specifics on any. Once again Joy's Life "Lot's of Pun" stamps, Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter". Also added some stickles in Pink & Silver. Once again 4 layers to the hippo Black, pink, dark gray & light gray. The weeds and water are accessories from Create a Critter & the cloud was free hand.

Stay posted for more to come - Also remember to become a follower (look to the right) of my blog.

happy Mothers Day

This was a couple weeks ago, but forgot to post it. Been busy! I made this card using the Create a Critter Cartridge - so much fun - Love this cartridge. I used Wild Card to cut out Happy Mother's Day. I'm hoping to get back to some scrapbooking in the next couple weeks when the kids are finished with preschool for the year. Happy Spring!

My Pink Stamper Challenge

My pink Stamper Challenge - Brown, Green & Yellow.

I made 2 cards using this Color combination. It's fun to pick a few sheets of paper and see what you can create!

This card I used a green patterned paper a layer of chocolate chip from stampin up. Stamped using chocolate Chip Ink on White cardstock. Used the cuttlebug with embossing folder swirls on yellow cardstock and brushed brown cateye ink to color swirls. Used the cricut and wild card cartridge to cut out a flower and punched a 1 1/4 inch circle using the stampin up punch.

The next card With Sympathy was created with Green patterened paper, yellow & Chocolate chip cardstock from Stampin up. Also used Chocolate Chip gross grain ribbon. The branch was cut from cricut cartridge wild card and the butterfly was cut from Everyday paper doll cartridge. With Sympathy was stamped with brown ink using Impression Obsession verticle stamp set.

Pink Stamper contest #11

This card is for the Pink Stamper Contest "Rainbow of colors".

This happy birthday card is made from 1 sheet of paper with small scraps. It was an idea I got from attending a StampIn Up card party. I don't have the exact measurements for the cuts right off hand.

Pink Stamper contest #10

The following card was created for the My Pink Stamper National Scrapbook Day contest. This get well card was for the Spring contest. The flowers were cut with the Potpourri Cricut Cartridge and the grass was cut with Gypsy Wanderings I punched the flower centers out with a regular paper punch.

Pink Stamper contest #7

This card was created for the Pink STamper contest 7 For Dad or a special guy.

I also used scraps on this card and the following from StampIn Up. The leaf stamp, The oval punch around the leaf. Used a piece of patterned vinyl across the card instead of ribbon and the Cricut Cartridge Wild Card for the "Happy Father's Day"

Pink Stamper contest #6

This card was made for the Pink Stamper contest #6 With a child or for a child.

This card was made with the cricut cartridge New Arrival. Also the "Hello baby" was cut using the word window punch from STampIn Up and the Stamp is also Stampin UP

Pink Stamper contest #5

This card I'm submitting for for the Pink Stamper Contest Teacher Appreciation.

EK Success corner star punch. Used Cricut Cartridge Wild card for the star cutouts and the #1 Teacher. Another simple card.

Pink Stamper contest #2

OOPS.. forgot to rotate the picture before uploading. Sorry.

This card I'm submitting for the contest - using your scraps.

These are all scraps so I don't know for sure where any of them came from. The Stamp is from a set from Joannes. Ribbon was stampin up. Very simple!

Pink Stamper contest #1

This card I'm submitting "For Mom". I've already made her Mother's Day card so here is one I can send Just because.

To make this card I used StampIn Up cardstock - Choc Chip, Whisper White. Scalloped edge is by Martha Stewert - I think? And Critcut Cartridge Wild Card for Just Because.

Scrapbook Retreat April 2010

I had a wonderful opportunity to go for the whole weekend to Viking Bay Resort with a bunch of fabulous ladies and scrapbook for the whole time! We had such a great time and even though I got a lot done it wasn't my most successful weekend. I think I got maybe 15 layouts done? I didn't actually count them. So 30 pages isn't bad, but not the best for an entire weekend. I was ill on Sunday morning so I only did 1 layout - probably part of the issue? I am looking forward to October when we have planned to return to the same place. Great place for retreats.. Rooms are separate from the work room, but if you can get past that - Great place! So here are a few of my favorite layouts I did this weekend. Not all.. won't bore you!! And for those of you I mentioned the Mickey Mouse Font. It was used on the Game Night Layout. Storybook was used for the triple layer crown on Princess Ella & the "After" on the Earing Page
